Life through the lens...

Northallerton

Should be the 15th July.

Back to the caravan for a few days.
WiFi rubbish as usual.
( Posting this a day late.)

After unpacking we drove up the old Great North road to Northallerton.
The pace of life is so much slower up here, except on Market Day when the town is buzzing.

The collage shows the lovely clock on Barkers, a very traditional department store, owned by the same family since the 1800’s.
Two of the old coaching inns. Love the name
“ Tickle Toby Inn”.
Also the oldest pub. The sign on the wall say
“ The Fleece Inn the oldest pub in Northallerton. Where Charles Dickens is said to have wrote Nicholas Nickleby.”
A pub no longer it is now an Italian Restaurant.

The rest of the afternoon spent back at the caravan. Sat on the deck.
Such a beautiful day. The river just gently flowing by.
The river is very low at the moment, but still one or two fishing. Not sure if they caught anything.

So good to be back, and the weather is going to be good for the rest of our stay!
How lucky we are.
