A very chilly swim this morning. Having completed a satisfactory quarterly review of our finances yesterday, we decided we could definitely afford to go out for lunch, so we went to the restaurant in the new cultural centre in Saint Laurent. It was a very reasonable French bistro meal, 20 euros for three courses. Special mention for the panna cotta with rhubarb puree and the very good coffee.

This evening we were yet again taking the winding road into the hills towards Fontjoncouse, fourth time in a matter of weeks. This time we went to Jonquières, a village with 30 permanent residents, which was hosting the latest touring show from the Centre Culturel in Ferrals. It was story telling by three conteuses, a rambling tale that wandered around the world telling stories of migration, language, and belonging. It was a bit too long, but it was a balmy evening sitting out in the little square, and my attention was often distracted by the pair of eagles (I think) periodically circling high above us.

Afterwards the Mairie laid on wine and food, but we weren't that hungry after our copious lunch, so didn't stay long. As I hadn't taken any photos all day, I grabbed this quick blip from the edge of the village before we set off home.
