Little Sparta

Went on a family-visit to Little Sparta earlier today - weather was completely glorious and the 'garden' was just as stunning (and inspirational) as I remember it ... last time we visited 'M' must have been around 7-years old, so some 16 or 17 years ago, and Ian Hamilton Finlay was still living there - he died around a year later in 2006.

I took literally dozens of photographs today, and this collage is obviously just a small representation of the nearly 300 individual artworks, which are spread throughout the marvelous landscape of the wider site.

Anyhow - really; if you've never been to Little Sparta, do just book a visit! (I think it's open Thursday-Sunday afternoons, until late September) ... the whole place is utterly, utterly spellbinding.
