Meadow Brown

Mrs Catspaw and I took part in Butterfly Conservation's Big Butterfly Count earlier this afternoon.

Unfortunately, despite the warm sunshine providing generally favourable conditions for butterflies, we saw only nine in all in our 15-minute watch: 4 Large White, 2 Small White, 1 Common Blue and 2 Meadow Brown (Maniola jurtina), one of which is shown here.
