A friend who comes from Balloch told us of a walk at the south end of Loch Lomond, and today we decided to do it.  It takes in the Loch Lomond Nature Reserve, and is a very pleasant place

The cars were bombing up the Lochside this morning, we were so glad we were not going up there as it much have been so busy.  The nature reserve was lovely, beautiful native woodland, dappled sunlight, families in little bays, wild swimmers in other areas, walkers and cyclists all out having a good time.  We walked to the scenic lookout, where we found a seat and a lovely view of the loch looking across the water and up to Ben Lomond, and enjoyed our lunch there.

It was very hot, mid 20's today and so a bit warm for walking, but we made it, although the road walking for the last mile was a bit daunting.  We did 5 miles in all, which was pretty good in the heat.

Headed for Caulders for sustenance, a choc milk shake for me, and coffee for the HG.  Very welcome.

And because we were at the southern end of Loch Lomond, we didn't have any hassle on the road home, although the road heading north was just bumper to bumper.  I think it is a problem all over the country now, with beauty spots and scenic routes just packed with people, and of course the good weather has brought everyone out.

Dinner over, going to relax with a G&T.
