a town called E.

Sláinte!

There was more green than you'd normally find in Michigan right before Spring, unless you'd be visiting on St. Patrick's because everybody is Irish on that day. The Moxie Strings were playing, the beer was flowing and the place was hoppin'. Many, MANY people all piled into "our" tiny brew-pub - including our local news sportscaster. ("Is that you-know-who? From Channel 3? Whathisname?")

It's not a big place at all, but what it lacks in size it makes up for in friendliness, and really REALLY good beer. There was dancing and lots of toe-tapping - and then there was a little boy with a keen eye for money.
Once he realised that taking people's money and pushing it in the band's tip jar would earn him laughs and applause there was no stopping him. You could see him scanning the room, locating a hand with a dollar, run towards it at full speed, grab it and run to the band to make the deposit. We were joking he should get a cut because he was such a hit EVERYONE handed over their cash to him. The Beloved fell for it twice! Ha!
Even the band said: "You guys are the best. And by you we mean him!"

It was one of those 'you had to be there' moments and under normal circumstances I probably would have done a better job telling the story but beer doesn't do anything for my storytelling skills. Fortunately I have this photo. Now imagine a whole bar full of people all having the same look on their faces as the band. Total awesomeness.

If the fabulous Moxie Strings are playing anywhere near you, go see them. And bring a clever toddler! I'm sure they'll appreciate it :)
