Lazy Sunday

Slept reasonably well but obviously heavily as I never heard young Mr PHL, his girlfriend and Henry pack up and head for home around 1am. Henry wasn’t settling and they had had enough so felt it was better to head for home. He slept in the car and didn’t wake till after 9 this morning so it was probably the right decision.

Poor Phin had another accident in the night which Miss PHL cleaned up at 4.30 but he then he fell asleep again till just before 9. He was happy enough to go out for a walk and wolfed down his breakfast.

I called the vets to get their opinion and they asked me to bring him in at 12. The diagnosis was that his meds after the corn cob incident had probably messed up the bacteria in his gut so he prescribed a different antibiotic and probiotic. He also suggested a diet of chicken and rice split over 4 meals a day. Phin thinks he’s in heaven!

Spent the afternoon on the sofa with the dog snoozing at my feet. Early dinner of leftover curry before I sat outside with a glass of wine for a while.
