If you go down to the beach today..........

We went to the beach today, and the surprise was to meet the Household Cavalry out for a ride. I wonder at the expense of maintaining a cavalry section so they can travel to Norfolk for a ride on the beach on a hot, summer's day and presumably for ceremonial purposes. When was the last time they road into battle?
We were actually there to walk but it was too hot with very limited shade and sheltered from the wind, so we travelled to a small harbour we have not been to before, a little further along the coast. There was a refreshing breeze and crowds waiting to get onto small boats to go and see the seals at Blakeney Point. We decided to go to Blakeney for lunch, but the car park was full and everywhere was crowded so decided to return to our cottage to sit and read in the garden (with the bonus of a snooze.)
The other extras are from the sunset last night - a pigeon enjoying the last of the sun and a seagull that seemed very put out with a red car that was not responding to its attempts to gain attention.
