Living my dream

Dynamism

We went to Bortons Ponds again this afternoon for a two hour walk, thereby not getting on with the raspberry pruning which was the alternative activity. Jeaniebean agreed I made the right decision.

The mighty Waitaki River which feeds the ponds is one of NZ’s distinctive and dynamic braided rivers: the shingle banks and islands shift with every flood.

A few kms upstream from this photo there is a series of lakes which feed hydroelectric power stations. There is a lot of electricity around here. See the extra.
