Day 484 Heatwave!

Today has been so hot and humid that I did not venture out into the garden properly until early evening.  I took this shot of a wood pigeon having a cooling drink from the water feature with my camera on a tripod, from the dining room.
After 69 weeks, here in England we have reached what has been called Freedom Day, as most legal restrictions have been removed.  It remains law that if you receive a positive test or are contacted by Test and Trace you should self isolate.  Other restrictions are strongly advised and mask wearing on all forms of London Transport, including taxis remains mandatory. We still have the traffic light system for travel abroad and on return from red listed countries you still have to isolate in a quarantine hotel for 10 days.   Nightclubs can open (not that I ever frequent them) but the big shock was that from September vaccination passports will be required to enter them.  So of course it's not over and for ourselves, today doesn't really seem any different from yesterday.
