Charlcombe

This morning was spent on the phone, dialling the Glastonbury Festival local tickets number over and over and over to try and get Meg a ticket. She hadn't managed to get one in the first round of sales, so we went for the local (villages around the festival site) sales.

This has the disadvantage that it is, for all intents and purposes, very very local. It's easy to imagine only one person on the other end of the line, with no queueing system - every time you called up, there would be a BT message informing you that the line was busy. You didn't even know you were calling the right number. But, after 3 or 4 hours of number-punching I got through, and although slightly stressed that my phone would run out of battery at the wrong moment, managed to get Meg a ticket. Boom! Ran outdoors and on a walk as celebration, along the dappled lanes to Charlcombe. Took my theory test revision with me...

Bit of a nightmare this evening as I went to book connecting trains to the Eurostar, only to discover that I'd booked the train a week early and the ticket is non-refundable... Had to fork out another £80 for a flight, plus connections to the airport... quickly turning into an expensive Easter weekend! However, can't wait to explore Paris. Going to be awesome.

Watched the BBC remake of Hitchcock's 'The Lady Vanishes' with mum, and good it was too.
