I realised that I had omitted the June entry on my Angela Harding calendar so rectify that error today, having little else to blip (unless you'd prefer the tidied shelves in the pantry...no?...we'll go with this, then).

The annotation states that when the artist visited the Shetland Islands she was impressed by the sea birds and especially the gannet colony on Noss, which became the inspiration for this lino-cut print.

 I can relate to that, having taken a boat trip around that island and seen them myself, although we do have an amazing colony on the Bass Rock, much closer to home (and which I was privileged to visit two months before Miss Flum was born).
