Project 365 day 205: home produce

It wasn't an exciting salad, and was not arranged with photography in mind, but only the sweetcorn came from a shop. The potatoes, tomatoes, lettuce and chives are from our garden, the cucumber from our neighbour's greenhouse (the first of our outdoor cucumbers will be ready soon), and the dressing is homemade yoghurt mixed with mayonnaise and seasonings. The tomatoes were particularly tasty: I have grown Cristal tomatoes every year, originally on my neighbour C's recommendation, and they are excellent for salads, cooking or preserving.

This afternoon J persuaded me that we should bake little chocolate cakes. They are very basic ones, a quick all in one recipe, but have surprise centres, squares of dark or white chocolate or peanut butter which melt to form a gooey centre during cooking. This meant I didn't feel obliged to make frosting, we just dusted a few with icing sugar; they tasted good.
