The Bridge

We had a little rain overnight but it's been a much better day than I'd expected it to be. I got up and went for a walk along the river before breakfast when not so many people were about. After breakfast we walked into Bourton-on the -Water on footpaths which was a little more than a mile but seemed to take us a while. Marian needed a knitting needle that she hadn't brought and had identified a knitting shop in Bourton. Once she had that we crossed the road and had a coffee before walking down to the centre of town and the River Windrush which of course was thronged with people. We did a bit of a walkabout and then set off back to the hotel by a different route which seemed a lot quicker. We ordered a lightish lunch in the garden and gradually the rest of our group returned from their walks and joined us.

This evening we got a taxi to a restaurant in Wyck Hill, just a few miles away for Anne's official birthday meal.

My blip is of the River Eye as it goes under the bridge with a lovely willow tree. The building on the left is the attractive village hall (formerly the reading room). It's been more overcast today but I've added a little sunshine from Nik Color Efex.
