Cauliflower Ears

For want of a better title, I decided these tree knots resembled those of a wrestler I knew many years ago. All taken from the same dead ash tree, one above the other.

I spent quite a bit of time balancing the light across all three images so they would work in the triptych. And I flipped one frame horizontally to make it fit the sequence better. I was concerned the light direction would be different having done so, but I think I had to move around the tree a little when taking the shot anyway and it didn't make much difference.
