Action Man Diver

Continuing with the Gibraltar theme. (We used to live there and my son is just visiting there for the first time in forty years. He has been sending me pictures of various places and asking questions about living there).

Each day in the mid 1970s, we would go with the children to the Rosia Bay swimming club. On thé jetty was a shallow pool for little children to swim in. For my son’s 4th birthday, we gave him one of the Action Men Divers. He was absolutely thrilled and spent every day, playing with it underwater in the sea water that filled the pool. He played with it so much that the elastic holding the arms and legs together rotted from the salt water. As you can imagine, he was devastated. I think we managed to find new elastic and put him back together again!
