An old tree

Tree blipped, planted back in the 60’s, perhaps well before. Looks somewhat neglected outside a similarly neglected hotel yard. Sign of the times.

a.m. Zig-zagged our way into town, avoiding people hogging the pavement. Then for a change, up Richmond Hill, across the A338, up a leafy road, and finally returned back down via the notorious Horseshoe Common (not a place for single women to venture alone).

Afternoon sat on balcony trying to get into a book (about life in Poland prior to WW2). Will see if I can do better tomorrow. Constant distractions.

Kept awake till 3 a.m. Foot itching from 3 day old midge/mozzie bites. Have tried all the home remedies cider, vinegar, antibacterial, Vicks vapour rub. Shop bought creams never work. Currently lying with an ice pack on the worst bite. HATE MOZZIES & MIDGES. Must remember to use my Avon Skin Soft!!!

May take a Piriton. If I do I’ll be like a zombie tomorrow.

Good day for GB gold medals!
