The dropped stitch

Inula

A plant I'm very fond of, both for its sunny flowers and its ability to thrive on neglect.
I'm glad of its tough stems too, having discovered a young rabbit in the garden today. There's evidence that some serious nibbling has gone on.

There are so many places for this unwelcome visitor to hide. I have walked round at intervals this afternoon but have not spied it again. Has it gone or is it just lying low? The answer to that will be clear in the morning when I inspect for any more bare stalks where annuals used to be.
