Rained Out!

Well sports fans,  I know we were all anxiously awaiting today's pollinator trials but the weather decided not to cooperate. Team Ruby throat hung around the geraniums for a while in the hopes  that the brief gleam of sunlight meant that the thunderstorms were clearing out. But their hopes were drowned out in yet another downpour . Their team captain sadly watched as more raindrops came down on the field. It was the first time though that we saw all 4 of Team ruby throat's athletes as they made their way to the refreshment feeder after the announcement that the trials were to be cancelled for the day. ( Although I must admit - if they go into the trials chasing each other away from the Stadium like they were chasing each other off of the feeder today their chances of beating Team Bumblebee or Team  Paper Wasp seem to be pretty low!)
Team Paper Wasp however was nowhere to be seen today , preferring to hide in the Training Flower Rooms  to avoid being knocked out by the drops of rain. 
The hummingbirds told us though "Hey ! At least it's not another hailstorm!"
And they wished that human swimmer Katie Ledecki a big congratulations for her gold in the 1500meter freestyle.
