Lockdown planters

Last year during the first lockdown we made these planters from some old kitchen cupboards and broken fence to cheer up the corner by the back door. At the time it was hard to get plants or seeds but we managed to get some nasturtium seeds and a few rockery plants delivered by our local garden centre. These nasturtiums are from seed saved from last year  and the very pretty viola on the right was one of the rock plants in our lucky dip selection. Amazingly the boxes survived the winter and are now home to a new set of cheerful plants for this summer.
The extra is the not so beautiful part of the garden I'm trying to clear of horsetail and ground elder to replant it later in the year. I spent the day rescuing some plants and inspecting them for weed roots. They are now in quarantine in plant pots. Time will tell if they can go back in the garden eventually.
