Beached ...

Enjoyed a very full Scottish breakfast and then went to visit a friend of T's from his student days who has built a really amazing eco house near the beach. We enjoyed more coffee with some carrot cake and lots of chat.

After that we made our way down to beach and headed west and kept going for a good few miles until we reached Whiteness Sands also called the Secret Beach. The tide had now come in so we walked back along farm tracks, essentially doing the walk highlands route in reverse. A good walk and a long one - about 10 miles.  

Not quite sure why it is called the Secret Beach - perhaps because parking spots aren't obvious if you want to drive up fairly close - and it was relatively quite. 

The walk back was interesting in that you hear the sea but only occasionally see it. 

Now relaxing in our room before heading out for dinner.
