Fortified

After (another full Scottish breakfast), we left our hotel and Nairn and made our way to Fort George.

We stopped first to see the Clava Stones and Cairns , which I hadn't heard of until I saw the signs when we visited Culloden on Friday. I'm glad I did as it is an impressite site with three chambers admist stone circles.

Fort George too is worth a visit -  the scale of it is something else and we enjoyed an interesting few hours walking round the buildings, including its museum and then along the battlements.

Our visit coincided with low tide which increases the chances of seeing Dolphins in the firth but none were spotted (by us at least).

We are now back home in Pitlochry after a rather enjoyable two days away.
