The Commando Memorial

As the majority of travelling was done yesterday we had time to enjoy the sights. We started in Oban by climbing up to McCaig’s in Oban to enjoy some panoramic vistas of Oban and its coastline.

We then enjoyed a walk and lunch in the grounds of Dunstaffnage Castle. The castle itself was still closed but we still enjoyed seeing its fortifications from the outside.

Our last port of call was the Commando Memorial. Met James Brown a fellow Orienteer and had a wonderful catch up - these orienteers do get about. The extra shows the memorial set against the backdrop of the mountains in which they trained. Well worth visiting.

We have now checked in at our accommodation for the week. A lovely location with walks from the front door along a rather dry river. A wonderful place for relaxation after a days orienteering or walking.

The WiFi is rather temperamental so apologies for a lack of comments. Many thanks for following my adventures. I thought about turning the comments off but have left them on for anyone who would like to comment.
