Outside looking in… 7.40pm Late Blip

It’s always strange after the family have gone back home. The silence in the rooms.
The toys all packed away.
No more creeping to the bathroom during the night making sure to try and avoid creaking boards!
Dare I say it? The house just looks too tidy.
I could scatter a lot of lego on the carpet, put out the train set, leave out all the paper, crayons, glue and scissors on the table…….put toys everywhere…..
But it wouldn’t be the same.
All their energy is now back in their home.
I am naturally very tired all the same, we both are, so more of a slow day today.
I had a dental hygienist appointment at 11.55 am.Our lunch was then deferred till 1.45 pm, as you are not supposed to eat or drink anything for an hour afterwards.
Once back home, more washing was put in the machine.
The first lot of towels were in before breakfast and out on the line.
They more or less dried before the light rain began a bit later.
Three more loads have been in since then! A general wash and then bedding.
I had a long call with the wife of my close friend who died last week, after lunch.
The funeral is up in Lancashire next week on Wednesday. It will be another trip up North.
We took a breather and went out to our favourite Farm Bistro mid afternoon for a coffee. Sitting looking out over the fields to the line of trees, above which the clouds were inky blue. It made all the greens in the landscape look luminous.
On our return I had a long call with my sister Shirley up in Knaresborough, as we were due to go and see her and Neil on Wednesday. But he was in Harrogate Hospital last Friday for three nights, in awful pain on admission. The preliminary diagnosis is Gall Bladder trouble.
He was home Sunday evening with meds and pain relief but goes for an MRI scan this week on Friday.
Their son James came up from London and is still with them.
Shirley herself wasn’t well for a few days so they are both exceptionally worn out.
(She had a bad stroke in July 2009 aged 56 years old).
And then it was time for dinner.
I just remembered about blip!
I took the photo through the kitchen window.
Pity it doesn’t have a smell, as there is some freshly baked bread cooling on the right-hand side.
Just watching “Only Connect”
Then it will be “University Challenge” with the subtitles (for me!) in order to be able to read the questions!!
I’ll catch up on your lovely blips bit by bit.
Thankyou for commenting on mine!
