Hunter

Our hedge is home to a multitude of the wee birds that used to be known as hedge sparrows. Under the attentions of our gardener, said hedge has grown a very tight, close-trimmed top and sides. Today the new tomcat in the neighbourhood went prowling along the top of it, peering down into its depths to see if there were birds within. We caught sight of him as he launched himself up the rhododendron bush the breaks the line if the hedge halfway down; by the time I'd found the camera he'd negotiated it and was back on the smooth surface, looking as if he was daring me to laugh.

I did, though.
