More golden girls

Today was an exciting day for New Zealand kayaking/canoeing.  Firstly, Lisa Carrington won gold in the women’s K1 200m (her third consecutive Olympic gold medal for this event), then she teamed up with Caitlin Regal and won gold in the women’s K2 500.  These two girls are such an amazing pair of rowers - strong, focused and wonderful to watch.

Lisa Carrington now has four Olympic gold medals and an Olympic bronze medal.  She stands alongside Ian Ferguson (another kayaking Olympian) as having won the most Olympic gold medals for New Zealand.

Tomorrow could be even more exciting, as they will be competing against one another in the women’s K1 500.  Then, on Friday, they will again join forces, this time with two other Kiwi girls, in the women’s K4 500m

Go girls!!
