That Depends on the Vehicle ......

G and I walked over to the ford at Letheringsett and back this morning. I chose this particular shot of the JCB crossing the ford to include the sign - would you argue with it? You might just see that someone had left an empty can on the arm of the seat and there was a wrapper for a packet of biscuits in the ford itself, what is wrong with people? We finished the walk by having a sit in the little Methodist Garden in Holt which has only just re-opened - I had a coconut ice cream and G had a coffee, very civilised. 8 Olympic medals for Team GB today, including 2 Golds in sailing - fab!

Day 505 / Day 16 of Step 4 of Roadmap Easing (for my record only)
New daily cases have fallen to 40% of the highest reported in this wave on 17th July, hospital admissions are starting to come down, but there were 138 deaths today (reflecting that high point for cases). There's been a spike in cases in Lincoln that's been linked to a nightclub and mainly under 30's are affected. In Scotland from 9th Aug most restrictions will be lifted - key differences from Eng are that face coverings will be mandatory indoors and working from home is still advised (I agree with this stance, although I'd like to see them try to enforce mask wearing in nightclubs!). A tweet from a consultant in Liverpool warns that 'lots of young, unvaccinated covid patients are being admitted to critical care' and shared a graph showing the low vaccination rates in the city to 1st Aug - 68.3% 1st dose (88.6% UK) and 54.5% both doses (72.7% UK). All 11m Wuhan citizens are being screened for Covid in an attempt to stop the delta variant. A protective Covid hood with a constant stream of filtered air to prevent fogging has been developed for the NHS by submarine manufacturers at BAE systems.
