A day on the Norfolk Broads

Strangely enough, although we lived in Mid-Suffolk for 22 years, we never spent a day on the Broads. I expect we couldn’t afford it when the children were of the age to enjoy it.

#2 daughter arranged for us to rent an 11 seater boat which we picked up at Wroxham for a lovely day chugging along the Broads. The children all had a go driving the boat, some more successfully than others. It was very relaxing. We moored up about 11 am so that the children could have a run round then set off again. The daughters and I shared a bottle of champagne.

We had an indifferent lunch at the New Inn at Horning but as we were hungry we weren’t fussy. Then we pottered back enjoying looking at the smart houses and even smarter boats moored outside.
