Back to front

But at my back I always hear...
is rather mysteriously engraved on the front (of the back) of this seat. Three of us were out walking and none of us knew until I googled that it is a line from Andrew Marvell's To His Coy Mistress. We were all slightly embarrassed not to have recognised it. I read aloud:
   But at my back I always hear
   Time’s wingèd chariot hurrying near;
   And yonder all before us lie
   Deserts of vast eternity."

then I couldn't read any more.

We walked on, and on our way back I spotted this back.

(another of those photos that is in focus in large - if such things matter...)
