Essex Skipper

Although I should have spent the whole day report writing, the weather was so lovely that Pete and I sneaked off for a couple of hours to survey some road verges in Bainton and Barnack. They were looking a bit past their best, though there was plenty of common knapweed, greater knapweed and field scabious still out, which were attracting large numbers of Essex skippers.
