Honesty Box

Today was hair cut and colour day - very important as the grey roots were in big evidence and the colour has lightened so much with the sun despite wearing a hat so needed toned down. I have researched hats and it seems you get Australian ones that are factor 50!

Later in the day we walked the Broxden clockwise loop and came across this at an entrance to a farm. Cute!

As we were walking past the park and ride and bus depot I noticed the old guy that we have seen normally during the day sitting under the bus office block and shouted good evening to him. He shouted back so I went over to chat to him. Turns out he sleeps there :( and is Charles Ingram (not the Major) the guy that spent years living in his car at the side of the A9 near Blair Atholl. He told us his story about his mother murdered, losing his business , a bent copper, losing his car that he slept in at the lay by, newspaper cuttings and there was a film made of his story. He’s been at the park and ride at Broxden for a couple of years sleeping rough and this guy is 76…. I felt really sorry for him but he won’t talk any housing that P & k offer him. It’s a thrawn-Ness of another level. We spoke for around half an hour and I signed his petition to get his case opened. The names and dates from his folder go back to 2014!

I said I would come back and see him each time we walk this way if he is there. He said he took the bus to Inverness yesterday and had fish and chips. He took all his belongings with him in the bus and there are a good few bags, around 6. Last winter his tent collapsed with all the snow on an area in the trees so he went to the nearby travelodge. It’s really some story.
