Getsvedjeberget

A long name for a small hill but it's a hill with wonderful views over the sea. Oddly, the guide book listed "selfies" as the main activity to be undertaken. There is a large flat slab of rock and photographed from the right angle it will look as if you are sitting at the top of huge cliff (see extra). We didn't partake but we did use this natural seat to eat our packed lunch.  We first met Rona, via her mum, when she was 9 years old. It seems strange that next year she will be 50. Where did all those years go??
There are so many Swedish people taking holidays in Sweden just now that places like Skule Forest are somewhat overrun. We were sharing the hill with plenty of others, but we didn't mind. It seems wonderful that so many families, so many youngsters, are discovering the joys of the Swedish National Parks, instead of lounging around Mediterranean beaches. And in a month we will have these places to ourselves again.
The year is moving along. It is properly dark here now for two or three hours. There is a chill in the night air too (12°C just now) and in the northern Swedish mountains (a long way from us I hasten to add) there were 4° of frost last night! Our local lakes are now 18°C and each cold night chills them slightly more than the warm days heat them up.
But for now the warm sunny days continue...
