Wattle

There are about 1,000 species of wattle, or acacia, in Australia, making it our largest genus of flowering plants. I believe this one is the black wattle (acacia mearnsii).

From my own observations there seems to be at least one species of wattle out at any time of the year. They peak from July to September and right now they are going gang busters. I love their fluffy stameny golden heads.

Thanks for hosting BikerBear. Stay well all.
