Monsoon

It was a quiet day - my sister, who is an artist - went to her drawing group this morning. (If you're interested, you can see her work here.) So I did grading for my classes, and some botanical garden work....kept busy till she got home early afternoon. We ate lunch and waited for the promised monsoon rains...which didn't appear until about 4:30 pm. We're supposed to go to a Shakespeare performance of "As You Like It" at the Santa Fe Botanical Garden tonight. Hopefully the rains will be over before we go :-)

This Ice Plant - Delosperma cooperi - is growing in my sister's garden. She's got the perfect climate for this hot sun loving plant! I caught the bee just as it was taking off. Happy Friday!
