Carol: Rosie & Mr. Fun

By Carol

2021 — 3rd Friday with Tristan

He ate the whole thing! We went to Martin’s for our last dinner meal for this trip. We usually eat at a restaurant on the final evening so we don’t mess-up our kitchen. Tristan said he wanted Mexican food, so we knew Martin’s would be the best place in Cayucos to satisfy that desire.

This morning the three of us left the house early to drive to Cambria to attend the Presbyterian Church’s rummage sale. They usually do 3 or 4 of these events each year. This is the first one since the Pandemic. Lots of people attended and there were lots of things for sale. Tristan found a book he wanted; Grandpa Fun bought a bunch of CDs for 50¢ each, and I found two blouses. We all felt like winners as we made our exit.

We enjoyed some breakfast at the Redwood Cafe and then took the pups to Shamel Park to walk and sniff. It was the first time Tristan had seen the Cambria shoreline.

Then we headed for Cayucos and our house and spent a quiet afternoon packing our things and making plans to head for Southern California tomorrow morning. It’s time to return Tristan to his home and family in San Diego.

And that was our first Friday in August.

Good night from California’s Central Coast,
Rosie (& Mr. Fun), aka Carol
and Chloe & Mitzi too!
and great grandson Tristan
