Silvery Checkerspot ~ Chlosyne Nycteis

Rescued from having spent the night inside our house on a window. I noticed it this morning and carefully took it outside and placed it on a plant near our kitchen door, where - it still being rather cool - it stayed for a few hours resting and considering its situation. But now it's gone on about its life. It looked like a pretty freshly emerged one. The silvery checkerspot is a fairly small butterfly. Maybe an inch and a half from wing tip to wing tip? Two inches max. Not as small as a blue, but nowhere near as large as a swallowtail (large), or even a painted lady (medium sized).
