twinned with trumpton

By MrFT

Up before 5; Baz at 6.

Grey Corries (part 2) commenced at 0930. A fresh NW and cloud swirling around the 2000ft mark. But the hope that it might lift....

Off we trudged; Logan's peep was gashed early on as we slogged up the grassy slopes and into the mist. Once over the outlier, the gradient eased and the underfoot conditions improved immeasurably.
The north top to the summit of Stob Choire Claurigh is erm interesting. But summit we did and then plodded off eastwards, onto what turned out to be a fabulous high level wander. About a mile or so along, the cloud lifted in about 10 minutes (anyone who's been climbing in Scotland will appreciate the wonder of going from 75 metre visibility to wide-screen views of the mountain upon mountain rolling off as far as the eye can see.

We finally rolled up onto Stob Coire an Laoigh and I pushed onwards over the rocks to the final top of Stob Choire Easian and then right out to the third Munro of Stob Choinnich Mor... (the shot in the blip).

Me and Logan battered up it, and knowing Baz was struggling went back to chum him to the summit.

After a good long look at the Mamores and the Aonachs we headed one last time upward before the long slog out back to the start.

I'll not lie... the last hour was not easy. But. Around 1930 we'd made it to the car.

Cool refreshing liquid in Spean Bridge, a dropped wallet on the road (it had a drivers licence- i posted it back to the owner on Monday) and after dropping Barry I finally clicked the front door shut at 5 to midnight. Burned ,( but not too much), footsore and hungry. But a great day so it was. Only.... 59?... left.
