Buttermere & Crummock Water

The wind continued to be strong all night and it was clear the weather was changing. We breakfasted and packed up in the dry however and headed east towards Blackbeck Tarn. This blip is looking down Black Beck towards Buttermere and Crummock Water.

We’d hoped to get in another summit or two but the wind persuaded us otherwise so we ended up picking our own slow route eastwards, off path, and in fact we got a right soaking as we skirted around Grey Knotts and down to Seathwaite. Nothing could detract however from the first two days which had been beyond all expectations. An awesome expedition.
