Camera Club's Trevor

Our Camera Club has had a very busy day. The bi-annual "Senior Expo" was held at the local stadium. The Senior Expo is an opportunity for a multitude of community groups to show-case themselves and their activities particularly in relation to the older folk in Marlborough. (Oh, how I hate the title of "Senior Citizens." It really grates with me...)
Over 75 organisations were represented at this year's expo. They include commercial businesses such as, dare I say it, Funeral Directors...who incidentally provided thousand of free muffins for morning and afternoon teas...to travel companies, the local bike shop which provides mobility scooters ( Blenheim is FULL of mobility scooters), hearing testing businesses and heaps more. Then there was a huge range of voluntary organisations such as church groups, Victim Support, SeniorNet, which provides computing classes for the over fifties, Age Concern, Budget Advice and the like. There were also what I would call hobby and recreational group, such as "Men's Shed", Bowls, Paper Tole, Creative Fibre, Stamp Collectors and not to forget our Camera Club.
Our community is the richer for all these groups and organisations which exist to enhance our lifestyles and well-being.
Camera club members assembled just after 8.am in order to set up our kiosk with a display of prints covering various topics and laptop with monitor. Ambling Camera had organised the slide show of digital images which had achieved Merits and Honours at recent Camera Club competitions.
With it being so visual, our kiosk attracted a lot of attention and we may even have gained a number of new club members.
Trevor had quite a sampling of his photographic gear on display. He is our Photoshop King and is a whiz with any gadgetry. There is his big video camera setup behind him to the left. He makes an enormous contribution to our club and he is also heavily involved with other community groups, taking a leadership role in some. He is English, as are quite a number of our club members. We even have a Welshman...We make allowances for all sorts.
So it was a full-on day for many and I would guess quite a few households enjoyed Takeaway meals this evening. We certainly did!
