Goose island

Today we travelled by bike and ferry from Barra via Eriskay to Lochboisdale on South Uist. It was a straightforward ride. I even managed the dreaded hill on Eriskay without any trouble: it was nowhere near as demanding as I remembered it.

It was a good day for wildlife. We saw seals, an otter and a dolphin (far away) from the ferry, and masses of dragonflies beside a loch full of water lilies (see the extra). The geese that I have blipped were posing on a spit of sand on Barra.

We're here for one night, breaking the journey en route for three nights on North Uist.

Exercise today: 22 miles of cycling.
