Black Horse

Thanks to Margaret for asking if I had ever come across the Black Horse in Thame.  I've walked passed it so many times without really looking.  There are so many current and former pubs in Thame.  The Black Horse is actually rather lovely.  It dates from 1620 and is on the market place only about 50m from the spot where the stagecoach used to stop.  This is where I was standing to take the blip on 5th July.  Thame was a major interchange between the London-Oxford coaches and the Henley-Aylesbury coaches (hence the number of pubs).  The Black Horse was taken over by Brasserie Blanc in 2017 and restored beautifully.  It's definitely on the list of local pubs to try, and meanwhile it has become part of my "Old Thame" series.
