Kilchurn Castle

Today was our 35th wedding anniversary. After a Misty start we had a short ride to the head of Loch Awe to visit Kilchurn Castle. Unfortunately it is closed to visitors wanting to see inside. However a wander around the outside was still worthwhile. A short drive away offered this panoramic view of the castle in its setting.

We had a lovely lunch sat by the entrance to Loch Etive with views across to Dunstaffnage Castle which we visited on our way to Fort William. A lovely lunch eaten outside where Jet could join us. The young waitress brought him his own bowl of water but he was more concerned with the food on our plates.

I was planning on a swim at the beach but a blustery wind made the water choppy and I opted for a paddle instead. Maybe tomorrow…..
