Kerrera Island

Thank you so much for the fantastic response to yesterday’s photo.

Today’s adventure took us on a short ferry trip across to the island. The ferry could only take twelve at a time so patience was required in the queue. Parking was at a premium not helped by a large camper van occupying the space of several cars. A local lady took exception to this and berated the whole queue about such selfish parking. I didn’t have chance to point out the occupants were not in the queue!

We completed a circular walk to Gylen Castle at the southern end of the island. Apologies for posting another ruin! The coastline was spectacular with amazing geology. I particularly liked the tower of conglomerate in the extra.

Unfortunately the cafe is closed on Tuesday and Wednesday so a good job we were carrying water for ourselves and Jet. In the heat we were all rather relieved to reach the downhill section back to the ferry. Glad we did this today as the weather is due to deteriorate over the next few days.
