Thank You For the Days ..

Black and White

Looking out from the flat this morning, the sun was shining brightly on the houses behind us, but ..... Ten minutes later, as we went out of the front door, the deluge arrived (extra).

We hastily rethought our plan to visit Saughton park. We thought to take a round about route home via Whitmuir and enjoy an organic lunch. We should have checked that they were open ....... closed on Mondays, alas.

So we went on to Dawyck and managed to walk about halfway up the hill, when common sense prevailed and we got down to the cafe just as the torrents descended.

Then to Peebles - I wanted to browse the Charity shops for books for the next set of visiting grandchildren. Their tastes have advanced a bit beyond what we have accumulated over the years. More rain there, soaked again..

We gave up and turned for home. Which was just as well, as we'd only just arrived when the man from Pest Control arrived to deal with the wasps' nest in the loft. That's the Council for you, no warning.

But he was very efficient, and it was over and done with in a quarter of an hour. And we get the prize for the biggest he's seen so far this year - estimated 4-5000 of the creatures. I'm so glad they are gone, now hopefully the roofer will be able to come and fix our leaks.

Thanks to Carolina for hosting Mono Monday.
