Life after Burradoo, NSW

Tools of the trade

Little wonder tree removal costs so much. The amount of equipment arborists need to have must set them back a bit. For our one tree they had these two trucks, a chipper, a small excavator, a small loader several chain saws and a winch and pulley system for climbing the trees. I understand they also have a cherry picker. Their workers' compensation and public liability insurances must cost the earth as well.

Today, to remove the timber, they had to cross an easement and then move through our driveway to get to the road. The grass in the easement has been lovely and green of late. Nobody realised it was sitting on top of two feet of mud. The loader got bogged and the excavator had to be brought in to free the loader!  The extra shows a part of the now muddy easement.

The area at the side of our house is a right mess. However, it's fixable so onwards and upwards.
