Life after Burradoo, NSW

By MountGrace

Last day for a mighty tree

This massive gum tree is 11 metres from our living room. We have enjoyed it and the wildlife that called it home. Sadly, it has succumbed to disease and has been declared a condemned tree. It has a very nasty virus. Today the hugely skilful arborists came and started to take it down.

From left to right the four photos show the tree behind our house; the tree photographed from behind our house; Daniel descending for morning tea; the tree after they finished work today. They will be back tomorrow to finish the job.

We won't miss being terrified everytime we have big winds and we hear small branches bouncing off our corrugated roof.

The extra shows one of the sections of the tree which led to it being condemned. We couldn't see this before Daniel removed some of the large branches. However, the experienced eye of the arborist, who inspected the tree for the local Council, spotted it a few months ago.

Meanwhile the Covid situation in New South Wales goes from bad to worse.
