Quod oculus meus videt

The Long Gallery

A day in Birmingham, which started with a visit to Aston Hall, one of the best examples of a Jacobean House still in existence.

It was also a throw back to my childhood as the secondary school I attended was literally a stone's throw from the hall.  Despite that it is the first time I have ever visited. It's only taken 50 years since I first went to school across the park to visit the hall.

The highlight of the hall is definitely the long gallery, seen here complete with the original flooring and panelling.  It stretches across the full width of the hall.
