Little Dig* in Paris

This is a typical scene around street digging in Paris--removing debris from a trench out of sight to the left. It's very near us, at Rue de Tolbiac and Rue Bobillot, opposite the Church of St. Anne, which I've blipped most recently here, with further links. It's directly in front of St. Anne's bakery, just to my right.

Notice the smaller machine in the bin of the truck (with a smaller arm)--these guys have all sorts of equipment and they are very efficient. Notice also that the outline of the building in the upper right echoes the angle of the arm of the scoop (a certain follower is sure to notice that and I'm anticipating him :)

*"Little Dig" in the title is a reference to Boston's 15-year Big Dig, a project which put major downtown highways under ground starting in 1991.
