Poissons Fins (Fine Fish)

A scene at about 18:45 just west of the Alésia Metro station, at a major intersection surronded by shops, in Paris 14e. Don't miss the fishmonger with his long blue apron billowing in the wind (best viewed large).

We were just returning from seeing "No", the Chilean movie about the plebiscite in 1988 on whether Pinochet should have another 8-year term as president. It was wonderful; we were constantly torn between the Spanish vocals (often easy to understand) and the French subtitles.

Yesterday we saw the movie Lincoln (also the original with subtitles)--absolutely superlative, above all Daniel Day Lewis's portrayal of Lincoln as an utterly human great president. Just memorable.

Seeing two movies in two days is exceptional for us--we took advantage of the three-day "Printemps du Cinema", when all French theaters offer tickets for just ?3.50 (ca. $5).
