A combination of weather and other commitments meant that late afternoon was the only time I really had to try and get a photo today.  This is the weir on the River Avon at Saltford, taken from the island formed by the lock.  This part of the river was canalised historically to enable river transportation between Bristol and Bath.

The light is a little too harsh for my liking but I'm sure that there's a more interesting photo waiting here in due course... I just haven't managed to stumble on it as yet ...
